Project Description

The annual Luton’s Best Awards are run by the Love Luton organisation which exists to actively ‘create confidence, pride and a positive image for Luton’. The awards recognise community achievement and act as a showcase and focal point for Love Luton’s yearly activity.

JNB Publishing has been involved with Love Luton and the Luton’s Best Awards since their inception and each year we provide design, print and creative services across a variety of applications to help make the gala evening the great success. Working closely with the event organisers we offer support from printed event programmes, interactive multi-media presentation design, all the way though the producing the actual awards themselves and even the chocolate box favours that guests find on the tables when seated for dinner. Every aspect has to be specifically branded to the client specifications and also combining the requirements of the many and varied sponsors and supporters of Love Luton.

The clubhouse was functional but not attractive and while a spring clean made everything seem cleaner and fresher, the place was in need of an aesthetic appearance to help portray the same professional attitude that the club has towards its youth team football.

Exterior signage was produced including the roller shutter facia board, vinyl-cut lettering and logo decals to the front windows and we even produced a hard-wearing club crest floor graphic to welcome home and away players and supporters to the clubhouse. All of the external signage was produced on variations of full colour printed vinyl with the relevant over-laminates. The floor graphic needed to be heavy-duty as it needed to adhere to a concrete floor plus withstand the effects of many muddy football boots traipsing across it week after week. To this end we printed it onto our new Utack Superpower vinyl which has extreme adhering properties and treated the graphic with a textured, non-slip laminate, before sealing with varnish for extra durability once it was installed.

Internally the premises needed clear directional signage, advisory notices and health and safety signs as well a decorative branding elements. The kitchen was completely refurbished to allow for hot food service. This included H&S notices, customer menus and price boards, plus a vinyl-cut decorative decal to the outer kitchen serving hatch. The notices were formed from a variety of substrates, from simple light-weight compressed foam board through to heavy duty aluminium composite material for long-term directional signage.

In other areas we have also provided leaflet design and print for the youth teams, branding of subs jackets for the girls, branded water bottles and more.
