Rethink Remembrance

The Mall shopping centre in Luton is always at the heart of the community supporting a wide range of projects and fundraising activities. In the approach to Remembrance Day, the Mall together with the Royal British Legion, raise funds through the Poppy Appeal with a retail presence within the centre.

The Bedfordshire Poppy Appeal 2017 launched on Saturday 28th October with a cascade of poppies from the top of the Atrium at The Mall Luton. JNB Publishing designed, produced and installed a 6-meter fabric backdrop that was used in the photo-call for the campaign launch.

Both current and former service men and women, as well as cadets, Legion members and standard bearers joined in the service of Remembrance. A large poppy wreath floor graphic produced by JNB Publishing formed the centrepiece around which those involved were gathered.

JNB Publishing was also involved in converting an existing retail display unit for this year’s Poppy Appeal. The solution needed to be eye-catching and non-permanent so that the unit could be reverted to the original state when the campaign finished.

After reviewing the concepts presented, JNB Publishing was asked to design, produce and install the graphics – bringing the idea to reality. The result was a highly visible retail unit offering a wide range of Royal British Legion merchandise for purchase.

This year’s campaign encourages us to remember the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces community, past and present and it was a privilege for JNB Publishing to be involved in supporting this cause.
