Our work is almost entirely B2B so it’s somewhat of a rarity when we are asked to produce wedding invitations. It seems that like buses, you wait for a wedding invitation, and then two come along at the same time.

In both cases, the brides came to JNB Publishing because they had something very particular in mind and wanted to find a company that could bring the idea to reality. Although both designs were completely different, each was very simple in terms of print and the difference was made by using specialist papers.

One bride-to-be had decided to create a wedding passport, but rather than using the typical passport cover, the colours where much more muted and simple. The main requirement was a special texture to the paper, so we offered a choice of crafted papers that are embossed with a choice of textures to order.

The other of our brides wanted to re-create a vintage theatre ticket using a single colour print that would strongly contrast with the paper. Again, we provided samples of a range of subtly coloured, luxurious papers and hey presto – we found exactly what she was looking for. As the finishing piece we were able to custom manufacture envelopes using the exact that material.

Both brides were delighted with the end results and the attentive care we took with them to ensure they ended up with an invitation to suit their wedding. On seeing the end results it served as a reminder as to how important the print media is to a job and what a huge difference it can make.
