As the hotel and bar was operational throughout this transformation our involvement in the project has been ongoing for some time and still continues. Starting with the new brand identity we quickly became involved in some significantly bespoke signage and large format printing applications that form an integral part of the bar’s décor and ambience.
Uniquely we literally printed the actual bar top surfaces that can be found in The Gin Snug. Printed using self-adhesive vinyl, mounted onto aluminium composite board and covered with a heavy duty non-slip laminate, the distressed metal-effect panels provide a real point of difference to any other venue. Similar large format jobs followed with bespoke signage for beer pumps, directional signs and even vinyl-cut lettering applied to rusted metal pipes with heat guns; all helping to create a really unusual and unique style.
Detailed drinks menus were produced in similar style to the bar’s decoration, but these also needed to be robust and durable. Printed on our special water and tear-resistant polyfilm menu board and then heat encapsulated for extra rigidity, the menus are wiro-bound to continue the industrial feel.
The majority of the work undertaken in the Gin Snug was bespoke and designed to order and created in collaboration with the creative ideas of the bar owner and design skills of our creative team. Then jobs were handed to our production team who were tasked with producing each individual piece of work to our usual high standards, but with the added nuance of having to make the end product have the appearance of aged industrial metal.
